From NYC Buzz to Pumpkin Soup
After NYC, I thought I’d be sprinting. Leaning into momentum. Making big moves.
Instead?
I’ve been simmering. Literally.
We’ve just moved back to the country.
There’s dirt everywhere. The kids would be barefoot if it weren’t freezing.
And this week, a beautiful local friend handed me a homegrown pumpkin.
I didn’t know what to do with it.
A few years ago I would’ve rushed past it — no time, no plan, no idea what to cook.
But this time? I paused. I made soup.
It’s not about the soup, obviously. It’s about how different it feels to be building from this place.
Intentional. Slower. Still strategic but not performative.
If you know me, that’s wild. I started a chef apprenticeship straight out of school. Ran the other way — and never looked back.
Until now.
This season feels full-circle. Quieter. Slower. But still strategic. Still focused.
After NYC, I’ve stayed paused on purpose.
There’s a reason for that. And her name is Pia Silva. She reminded me that you don’t have to choose between depth and ambition. You just have to stop chasing and start owning your timing.
So while yes, something is taking shape behind the scenes, it’s not being built in a rush. And it deserves space to take shape properly.
Yes, it’s exciting. But it’s not a sprint. It’s not noisy. It’s not a 5-offer stack.
So if you’ve felt the pull to pause — or the tension between growth and grounding —you’re not alone.
You might just be in the exact right season.
